.«(©». (From Our Own Correspondent.) FARMING. Spring has been kindly to allow workers in the fields and gardens, Sowing has beea cirried on for some time and fields begin to show a tint of green. The days have been, to say the least of it, warm, and the chance of seeda, grass, &c, shooting might bave beon le-i.i bub for an occasional night's raia or for showers during tbe day. Hari frosts occur at intervals and chill the eveuings and eaily mornings Flower gardeas have been put in order and spring fiowerß have been enjoyed since the beginning of tbe season. They are now to be had in quantities to satisfy even the greatest lover of nature's gifts. Young lambs appear in such large numbers now that nature seems to say summer is Dear. GENERAL. The school examination is to be held this month so that progress is being made towards the close of another school year, and towards the commencement of another year's work. The school committee held their last meeting towards the close of last month. Spring beiDg a busy time for settlers no social meetings have taken place here. Recreation has been afforded by the number of matters of interest held in Milton — the Presbyterian Union Sunday School entertainment, tb* annual soiree and Band Bazaar dte.w folk from the hills. Mr Scott, a student from Dunedin, supplied Mr Bertram's place here for the uaunl monthly Sunday service held under the direction of the Prenbyterian Church. The late Mr James F^hey, the account of whose aad death we have lately seen in the Bruce Herald, was for some time a resident of Table Hill, occupying at that time the farm now held by Mr John Mills. General sympathy is f Wt for his wife and family. Mr James Moufries, an ex-metnber of the Table Hill Christian Endeavor Society; and who has of late been pursuing hig studies in Dunedin, is for gome months to ester on missionary work among the Maoris.
