Present: j Messrs John Caird, (chairman), Captain Rutherford, Hallii, Rogers, Beardsmore, Penman, Duncan, Thomson, Pools, and Donaldson. A letter was read from Mr D. Mason, "Waihola, stating that he had i received a circular from Mr Edwards, organising secretary, notifying that the 9th October .'aad been fixed as the date for sending in nominations of candidates for the representation of Bruce, and as he had undertaken the formation of branches at a few places which were still unorganised, the time at his disposal was inadequate for the completion of the same, he therefore requested the Kaitangata Branch to act in conjunction with him re requesting Mr Edwavds to postpone the matter to the 23rd October. After some discusaion it was resolved that Mr Edwards be wired to the effect that he postpone the nomination of candidates to the 16th October. It was also resolved that as the number of members' cards forwarded by Mr Edwards were qaire inadequate to supply the demand, he (Mr Edwards) be requested to lorward LOO more. Oa Tuesday evening Mr Crawford Anderson met with a few members o f the Federation aud briefly stated his views. Mr Anderson prouounced hi. willingness to ieave himself entirely in the h >.uds cf the UV.dt ration, and if Mr Ai 'Skimming ztceivtd the majority of voces at the time appointed by the Federation, then he, as a Liberal, would do all in his power to fuithm that geutkmaii'ci interests in ihe diiectionof making his ca>.d';diture a success. 1 learn that Mr M'Skimining has t.-xpreßafd himself to the name tffect The weather during the. la^t few day* has been very .-quaily with cold raiu showers.
