Stirling

. ■. • — . -»— — - — — ■■■■■ .- (From a gobrespondbst ) Electioneering in the interests of the local candidates i Bin full swing in Stirling. Committees have been formed and canvassers are quietly at work. Amongst these is the wife of one of the candidates who is anxious to see her husband once more the representative for Bruce and to that end is wooing the lady electors for their votes. The Stirling School Committee have resolved that the school shall not be let for any political purposes. This action arose out of a request by Mr M'Skimming's friends to have the use of the schoolroom to bold a committee meeting. The dominant members on the committee are supporters of Mr J. C. Anderson, who is also on the committee, and although the school h^s been let to al! and sundry who paid the uau^l charges, it was thought advisable to use this opportunity ot exhibiting that gentlemanly and honorable courtesy to opponents, common to a certain class of politicians.
