Milton Cricket Club

fr The opening match of the season, Married v. Single, will be played on the Eecreation ground, to-morrow. Play will commence punctually at 2.30 p.m. The Milton Brass Band, which has kindly given its services, will leave St. George's Hall for the ground at 2.15 p.m. The following gentlemen will do battle on behalf of the Benedicts : Messrs D. Reid, W, Walker, T. Bewley, C. Grey, W. Woods, C. Grant, F. W. Riach, J. Walsh, W. F. Waiters, A. E. Stewart, H. Shutt and Dr Sutherland. The single men will be represented by Messrs J. Welch, R. Lockhart, W. Anderson, Moyes (2), J. White, J. Brownlee, C. J. Perrett, J. Vernon, R. Thow, A. Parlane, and A. Bryce. A close contest is anticipated, as both sides are confident of victory. With such a number of reliable players of the " olc 1 school," to say nothing of the " dark horses " amongst the benedicts, they ought to prove themselves " very heavy metal," and carry off the laurels. Should the weather prove favorable a good attendance of the public may con--1 fidently be expected.
