DREYFUS PARDONED.
AT LIBERTY AT LAST.
President Loubefc has pardoned Dreyfus, who has probably already joined hia wife. The 'Times' sayß that the pardon is a virtual admi.-sion that the verdict was in the teeth of the evidence. A iaige public meetirg held at, Perth cabled sympathy to Madame Dreyfus, Colonel Picquatt, M. Labori and othei supporters. Dreyfus was arrested on October 15, 1894, tried by court-martial, and fouod guilty in December. He was on January 5, 1595, publicly degraded by ha vine hi 3 sword broken and his epaulets and buttons torn off. As be was hustled away to prison, he declared ia firm tones, " 1 am innocent. Vive la France !" He was t,hen transported co French Gaiana. Particulars of his sufferings there and of the subsequent events which led to his retrial will be will be fresh in the memory cf our reader.
