Wednesday, September 13. The yardings at Burnside to -day were : Fat cattle 267, fat sheep 2887, pigs 146. The day was beautifully fine, but the attendance Bcarcely up to the average. Fat Cattle — All the available pens were well filled with quality of evsry description. A small portion wera prime. For best bullocks prices were 10a a head iower than las. week's sale, bnt a few extra prime and heavy showed no change. Heavy, p. ime bullocks sold at £7 15s to £8 12s 6d, good do £6 to £7 10i, other builocks £4 5a to £5 15., best cows and heiferß £4 to £5 10a, other do £3 2, 6"d to £3 17s 6d. Fat Sheep — There was a large portion of those penned ptime medium weight crossbred wethers. Butchers bid freely for lines suitable to their tr*de, and had to pay top ra^es for best wethers. Heavy wethers sold at 19.', average crossbred wethers, 15s to 16j 3d, lighter crossbred wethtra 13s to 14a 9d, prime orossbred ewes 13s to 14s 9d, other crossbred ewes, 12s to 12s 9d, extra merino wethers 14s 6d to 15a 6d, other merino wethers 93 to 12s, a pen or so of croesbred hoggets 9a 6d to 12s 61. Pigg— l46 penned. Baconers were a bit easier, bus light porkera sold well at late rates. There was also a good demand for slips and grown stores at full rates. Oats —The demand is quiet and only prime feed haa any attention.
