LOOK AROUND YOU.

The farmer who never leayes home, etceptlwhen he goes 'to the butter 'factory, creamery, or local township, is usually the most conceited arid egotistical of all m&n, Yet he Knows the less about his business, supplies the poorest milk, has the lightest wheat crop, and generally complains tnat " farming don't pay." If farmers of this class would only compare the quality of the ; products they grow with that of farmers who to-day are the mainstay of the colony, they would get some knowledge sf their needs. ■■" The best and most profitable lesson I ever learned," writes a subscriber, "was obtained from a visit to a farmer in a district with soil and climate similar to mine, who, 'with only one-third the land I am trying to own, was nevertheless making plenty of money. Everything he did was done well. That visit ridded me of a lot of my conceit about farm management." Reading will help you a lot, but you must look around you. Go nnd see for yourself. You will come home vastly wiser, and with a determination to supply better milk, grow a heavier crop of wheat, and make some money out of poultry. After this go and visit some of the markets, and see how the goods that sell at a high price are packed. Tou need not be long looking around before you will find that everything that sells at the best price is packed in neat, attractive packages. The lesson to be learned from looking around, therefore, will .be that to succeed you must. grow a good article and then pack it in a style that will catch the eye of customers. Always remember that there is never a profitable market for inferior goods.
