Wednesday, August 3 Fat Cattle— lßo head were yurded to day, fully two-thirdß of which were little if anything better than stores. The demand for really prime beef was good, and bidding spirited, but half fata wero difficult fco ecll Best bullocks brought L 9 to LIO 10; ; two or three extra heavy, Lll ; good bullocks, L 7 5a to LS 15a ; medium, L 6 to L 7 ; or equal to 22s 6d par ICOlb for prime bee. Fat Sheep — Today's supply consisted of 2645— a1l crossbreds — and the balk of them wethers of medium to fair quality, with only a few pens really prime. Prices were about on a par with those ruling last week, with the exception of tho primest sheep, whioh went a shade higher, say, 6d per head. Best wethers brought 143 to It)* 9J ; good do, 12d to 133 61 ; best ewes, lis 6d to 13a t>d ; medium do, 9a to 10s 6d. Lambs — Only 78 penned to day, and for theße the demand was good, best; bringing 9j to 10a ; medium, 6a 6d to Sa 6d. pjga — Only 11 pigs came forward this week, and sold readily at last week'B quotations. Wheat — There is nothing doing in milling wheat, Fowl wheat is slow of sale. Clean wbole fowl wheat is worth 3a to 3a 2d ; inferior and broken, 2a 3d to 2a lOd (sacks in, ex store). Oata — There has been a little more inquiry during the past week for shipping lines, but buyers' prioea aro lower than market quotations. There are always a few lines that oanbepickel up at a shade less than the rnling prioea, and there are enough to supply the demand. Qaotations an- : Seed dun?, Danish, aud long Tartars. 2- 6 i to 2.* lid ; Beed sparrowbllls, 2) 3i to 2.-> Gd ; medium, 2a to 2s Id ; inferior, la 91 t«. 2a lid , damp and discolored, Is 3i to la 6J (lacks eztra, ex store). Barley— There is nothing doiDg, and quotations remain unchanged. Chaff— A fair quantify haa been offering this week, Prices remain the came as last week, but are liko y to harden owicg to the onow and wet weather, i rime oaten chaff is worth 13 12j 61 to L 3 15j ; medium, 13 to L 3 7a 6d {sacks extra). Pjtatoea -There is oaiy a small quantity ooming forward. but sufficient for the inquiry. Primo derwouts are still bringing np to L 7 10s, but medium uire hard tj aell at from L 7 to L 7 5i (sacks in). Rabbitßkius— There ia still a very good demand for rabbi:sk(ne, aod prices are high. Best silver greys are worth 21f i ; winter blacks, 19d to 20JJ ; prime winier does (greys), 20£ d ; medium winters, 17d to 19d ; autumns, lOd to 141. Sheepskins — The usual number cf buyers were at the auction sales on Tuesday, and bidding was brisk. The demand for merinos atill continues, and crossbreds are more in demand.
