Mesara Moritz.on and Hopkiu, Dunedin, report as followa for week ending May 4:— We would aak farmers when sending samples always to put a price on them, aB buyers will not make offers. Wheat. —The demand is again very keen, and prioes have advanced 2d per bashej daring the laat week. We quote : For best velvet— Oamaru 4s 9d to 4* lOd, south 4s 8d to 4s 9d ; bsßt Tußoan— Oamaru 4a 9d sooth 4a 6d to 4) 8d ; red chaff 4 . 6d ; fowls' wheat, 3a 3d to 4s. Oats. — The market is brisk, and priceß are qnlte Id per bushel higher. Wo quote : Best feed, 2a 2d to 2s 3d ; Sutberl anda, 2s 5d 2s 6d. Barley.— Feed sorts are quoted at 2a 3d to 2s fid; milling, 3< 31 to 4i ; malting, in strong demand, 4a 9d to 5s 2d. Ryecorn.-3* 6d. Flour : We quote £11 Oatmeal _d 25' a, £12 10«. Pearl barley, £16. Bran £3 10i. Pollard £4 10a. Nelson hops are quoted at 10Jd to Is. Chaff. — Supplies having fallen off, prices are firm. Prime, £3 15a to £4 ; medium, £3 5s to £3 10s. Ryegrass. — The demand ia good for email shotty seed. We bave large ordera to fill, and can place any quantity. We quote : For farmers' dressed, 2s 6d to 33 ; machined, 3s 3d to 4s. Cocksfoot, 3^ ito 3|i for farmerß' lota, and 4Jd to s£d for machined. Linseed (wanted), £10 10j to £11 Preaaed atraw, 25a. Clover hay, £3 ss. Nitrate of soda, £15. Baßic alag, £5. Clovers, rape, &?. just landing. We can offer all classes pure and fresh. Potatoes. — The demand ia very activeWe quote : Darwents, £3 10a to £3 15a per ton. Hides.— l^d to 3f 3, according to weight and condition. Tallow.— Rough fat, 9a to 11b ; rendered, 12s to 15s. Horsehair.— ls to la 3d. Rabbitßkina.— The market here is very firm, and all sorts meet with brisk competition. We sell by auction every Monday. Sheepßkios. —We held our uaual weekly sale on Tuesday, when we offered a large oatalogue. Competition was brisk aud pricea ruled very firm. Dry crossbreds brought from 2a 6d to 5a 9d ; inferior, 1b 3d to 2a 4d ; dry peltß, Id to 91; dry merinos, 2a 3d to 6a ; inferior, Is to 2<s ; green pelts, la 4d to 2a fid ; green lambskin*, Is 3d to 2d 6d each. We undertake country clearing sales. FBUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT. Batter : Prime Bait, 8&d to 9d ; medium, Bd. Butter cases, with parchments, 18 per dozen. B Cheese : Good Akaroa, 3Jd ; faotory, 4d to 4|d. PJga. — For good quality, 3£d to 3|i. Beeswax (wanted), la to la 4d for prime quality. Fruit. — We receive conßigumenta of all kinds of frnit and garden produoe, which we sell either by auotion or privately, aa we think beßt in tbe interests of consignors. Plums, l£d ; apriots, 2d ; peaches, 2d ; tomatoes, 3d ; bananas, 2d to 2^d per lb. Dalgety and Co, Ltd , report having held their usual weekly auction Bale on Monday. There waa a good attendance of buyers, and prices ruled ac nnder : OatB — Wo offered several lines of good feed, and quote pricea as followa : Prime ■utherlands 2i 4d to 2\ 4£d, do Bparrowbilla 2a Id to 2<i 3d, medium and inferior la lid to 2.. Wheat. — We only offared several lines of fowl feed, and quote : Whole fowl feed to 4a, broken do 3 j to 3a Sd. Potatoes. — There was a fair demand and in consequence of some lots not being forward that bad been advised prices ruled higher by fully 15a per tou. We quote : Prime northern derwents L 4 12s 6d to L 4 15a» prime southern do L4 7a 6d to L 4 10s. Chaff.— The market was glutted, over 90 ton being offered at auction, and except for really prime there waa practioally no demand, medium and Inferior being neglected. We quote : Really prime L 3 10a to L 3 15a, medium L3 to L 3 sa, inferior hard to place L 2 10j to L 2 15a.
