A Paying Method
Some tradespeople who are not up to the modern methods of doing business consider that there io uo good in advertising, and ao they jog along in a hum-drum way, hiding their light under a bushel, aud their busiuess gradually goes to the wall. Other tradespeople, who recognise the faot that advertising is to business what steam is to machinery, pur -me tho -wisor course of judiciously advertising what they havo to sellAn advertlo-jr belonging to tbe latter 01->as recently told us that as soon as he advertised anything iv the Kroce Hebald ho was immediately waited upon by people wantiog to purch&QO tho articles he had for sale. For iustJiDoo, recently his advertisement in this papar c>i)taiaed the information tbat he had a number of articles for oa'e, and twin days after from ono small hamlet alono he wa B interviewed by six or seven people wanting to pmchaae. The strange thing about it wan that not oat) of them subscribed to the Brcce Herald, but they had all read it ! These faoti show two things : That if you want to do buaiuess locally you must advertise in the Bbucb Hbbald, and eeooudly that it is a much read and much borrowed paper. Thiß latter fact may be flittering to our vauity, but it does not inorease tbe circulation in " our cheat" ! Borrowers, please note.
