NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Chairman, Couucillora, and luhabitauts of the County of Bruce intend to present a Petition to the General Assembly of sew Zealand, at the ensuing session thereof, praying for leave to introduce a Bill to be iutituled "The Tu>kitoto and Kaitangata Lakes Act, 1890." The object* of the said Bill are that the County Council of Bruce be authorised to undertake sucu works as may be necessary for the reclamation of the lands described in the schedule of said Bill and the draii age of the Tuikitoto and Kaitangata Lakes respectively. And that the Council shall have the power to lease the lands reclaimed for 21 years. And the rents arising from the said landw during the currency of the lease shall be applied towards the paying the cost of completing the reclamation of said lands, maintaining the reclamation worka in proper condition, and rtcoupiag the past coat incurred by the Council in reclaiming any portion of said Isdclb. Copies of the said Bill will be deposited at the Office of the Examiner of Standing Orders at Wellington during the present session, and at the Resident Magistrate's Courthouse, Milton, and may also be bar! upon application at the County Office, Milton.
