TOKO. SCHOOL COMMITTEE
The above Committee met oq Friday evening. Present — Messrs Campbell (chairman), Twiss, Inglis, Murray, SproseD, and Moore. Mr Steward's bill to amend the Acb relate ing to the election of school cummittPes was considered, and it was moved by Mr lD«lia, seconded by Mr Twiss, and carried, "That the committee approve of the general principles of the bill, and especially the clause relating to the abolition of the cumulative vote."
The following accounts were passed for payment : — Janitor, £9 ; J. Gray, £5 Os SJ.
The Secretary reported that he had col> lected £10 of the pen and ink money. There were ouiy two or three fainiliea which declined to pay
It was decided that tho winter vacation commence on Friday, July 4, and that the school resume on Tuesday, the 15th. The Chairman stated that the Rector had received an award from the Exhibition Commissioners for the fretwork done by the boys, and al-to one for the sewing shown l>y the girls in Miss M'Larea'a class. It w is decided th it the awards be framed and hung up in a conspicuous place in the school. Mr Inglis gave notice to ranvo that the Coma.ittee meet in fu^ur* a f 6.30 o'clock.
