COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.

CANTERBURY GRAIN & PRODUCE MARKET. The Lyttleton Times of Saturday contains the following:— The week has been comparatively uneventful, nothing having transpired to materially alter the aspect of the market. Loading in' Port has been somewhat retarded by the wet weather lately prevailing, and the deliveries by rail have suffered from the same cause. "Wheat is selling from 3a 3d to 3s sd, according to quality ; but the business transacted has been of an extensive character. For a prime lot a trifle more can be obtained. There is moderate enquiry for seed lots, and a few Bales of parcels of this class have come under notice. Chick wheat is in fair supply, and has been quitted at 2s 3d to 2s 6d ; and for the better class up to 2s 9d to 2s lOd. Oats: — Sales continue to be made on a small scale at Is 2d to Is 3d for good feed, and for milling quality at Is 4d to Is 4£d. The Australian advices still continue discouraging. Barley: — There is the same hopeless feeling. Sales are difficult to make, and values range for good malting from 2s 6d to 3s 3d, There is nothing doing in lower values. Potatoes are being sold at the old rates of e25 to 27s 6d. The supply coming forward is fully equal to the demand. Flour has been sold freely at £10 to ill, and the mills are all busy. Grass Sekd.— Not much can be reported as having been done in rye grass, beyond a few Bales for export. Cocksfoot has been offered in quantity without leading to business, sellers holding for higher rates. Daibt Produce.— Butter, 9d to 9£d ; cheese 4 1 to 5d ; honey, 4d to 4id.
