TERRIBLE ACCIDENT.

A frightful accident happened at tlie Talbot (Victoria) railway station on the morning of Sunday, May 20, which resulted in the death of Mr John Kichardson, the wellknown draper and cloihier. Mr itichard3on went to the station to sec a friend off to Maryborough by the train, and in taking leave of him, when the irain was in motion, was observed by Constable Dann, who was en duty, to Jose his footing, and fall between the platform ami the footboard. An alarm was given, but not in time to stop the tiain, which proceeded to Maryborough. A parly headed by Sergeant Britt, with Dr Masac.y in attendance, started with lanterns along the line.
