Cheistchurch, April 16. A special Committee meeting of the Canterbury Jockey Ciub was held this afternoon. It waa decided to be advisable to have a special race meeting on the occasion of the visit of the Governor. Tbc settling on last Autumn Meeting took place last night. Tho following amounts were paid over: — Mr G. Fraßer £592 4s; Mr Neilson, £273 12s ;Mr E. G- Griffiths, £290 14s; Mr P. Butler, £137 15s ;Mr E. Vallance, £99 15s j Mr J. W. Mallock, £80 15s; Mr H. G-oodman, £47 10s; Mr H. W. Robinaon, £25 ; Mr J. Kowe, £10— total £1557 ss. At a sale of racehorses by Miilett a;>d Griffiths to*. -lay a number of horses were put up and bought in.
