Mv Bastings thought it would be too much to open the laud in question at £2 an acre. Mr Green said that, in connect : on with the surveys, a good main <ii*tevial road should always be surveyed iv the first instance. The Board suggested thafc as reccm mended by the Chief Surveyor, the Government should dispose of the sections men tioned as most suiable for deferred payment pastoral land. With regard to the remainder of the land within the blocks the, Board was of opinion that it should be offered at auction at the upset price of 20s and that, in order to effect this, the land in question should be proclaimed a Hun-
