BALCLUTHA.
The Mayor (Mr Hogg), and Councillors Dunne and Mason waited on the Hon. Mr .Macandrew yesterday morning, in reference to the works being caraied on in the borough to repair the damage done to the streets by the recent floods. The hen. gentleman replied tbat
he would immediately' telegraph to Wellington to have the £1000 promised to be advanoed to the borough placed at their disposal as soon as possible ; and would instruct the Bailway Department to place a locomotive and trucks at the disposal of the Corporation.
