THE WASTE LANDS BOARD.

: + The regular meeting of the above Board was held on Wednesday. Present — The Chief Commissioner (Mr J. P. Maitland) in the chair, and Messrs Bastings, Bradshaw and Thomson. .- HINDON. js^: : . . An applicatien by Mr 'Andrew Scott, on behalf of the New Caledonian Quarts Mining Co., for a license over ten acres to raise lignite, was referred to the Warden. TTJAFEKA MOUTH. Mr Andrew M'Beath applied to purchase a business site at Tuapeka Mouth. It was resolVed; that the .whole section be offered for sale by auction as land of special value, being of superior agricultural quality, at the upset price of £10 per acre - Mr Carew to be requested to make valuation lor improvements. WAIHOLA. WARDENS. i^ Ranger Hughan reported that no license holders attended the meeting at Waihola to elect wardens. It was resolved that the ranger be requested to suggest the names of the two persons to act as rangers. WENDON. An application by Mr Alex. Matheson to purchase sections 13 and 14, block 1,, Wendon, held under exchange lease, was approved. TUAPEKA WEST. The applications to purchase sections 34, 35, 36, and 37, block 11, Tuapeka West, by r Mr Charles Mullins, were approved. ; RUNS 76 AND 77, WAIKOUAITI. Consi leration of dealing with these lauds as subdivided were adjourned for- one week. NASEBY DISTRICT. Mr Joseph Creighton was allowed to purchase section 2, block I, Naseby. APPROVED. The Board approved of certificate of applioaSo'n for agricultural lease of Mr James Fraser for, section 15, block I, I Budle district ; and of the application of Mr James Woodhpuse to purchase sections 18j block I, Tevioti. ; . VALUATION FOR IMPROYEMENTB ON RUNS. S The Chief Commissioner requested the Board to consider the advisability of appointing' a valuer to estimate the improvements effected by runholders on rurs dealt with at last meeting, and to be dealt with.
