[By Cable] [Reut«h'.s Special.] Svoney, Jauuary 12. Oue hundred men are busy at the Exhibition building. A daring robbery of Lady Robinson's jewellery has taken place. The thief was detected pawning articles to the value of £200. A clerk named Montgomery has been arrested on suspicion. Mr Wats n, treasurer, has been re-elected for Laohlan by a substantial maj >rity over MiMaclean, tne chairman of the Reform League. Tue sailing of the ship Duthie was prevented in au extraordii ary manner. A seaman accideutly stabbed himself near the heart, and the doctor forbids the slightest movement of tho ship. A Loudon cablegram states there are numerous demands for space at the Exhibition, especially from the Continent. Over 1,300 emigrauts are afloat for Sydney. Melboukne, Jauuary 11. At the sales of the Hon. Neil B a k's shorthorns there was biisk competition, but the prices were lower than last year. Messrs Barsus and Ranniger, merchants, have suspended payment. Birsus disappeared last night, aud fears are entertained for IV safety.
