THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS IN ENGLAND.

"The first innings of the Surrey men closed for 107, and the first innings of the Australians closed for UO. The attendance was enormous. June 5. In the match Australians v. Surrey the ! following played :— Shuter, Jupp, Game, Lucas, Lindsay, Cannichael, Pooley, Jones, Stracban, Barrett, and Southerton. The second innings of their opponents elosed for 80, and the game was won by the by five wickets. - The top score on the Australians' side was made by Midwinter, who scored 32 in his first and. 5 in his second innings. Charles Bannerman made 1 and 31, Shuter 19 and 15, Pooley 29 and 7. Spofforth obtained 8 wickets in the .first innings, and Barrett did the same. There was slow scoring in the second innings, as the wicket was wet. The attendance was enormous. The matches in which the Australians are engaged excite much interest.
