The Volunteers.
STO. I CLUTHA KHXES. On Saturday, a friendly competition between the West Taieriand No. 1 Clutha Rifles took place at their respective butts. The ranges were 200, 400, 500, and 600 yards, five shots at each range. The followiug are the scores : —
541 The usual competition for the company's challenge cup, at the first three ranges, wsis held at the same time. Sergeant Hogg, a« T< will be seen, was the winner, with a good score of 55 points out of a" possible 60. WEST TAIERI KIFLES. The total score made by the West Taieri Rifles was 484 points. This leaves the No. 1 Clutha. Rifles victors by 57 points.
