The following, clipped from the ' Hawke's Bay Herald,' shows that pheasants have recommendations to the agriculturist as well as the sportsman and the chef de cuisine : — Evidence, if any were wanted, of the value of pheasants as the destroyers of insects, is furnished by the crop of a cock pheasant which was shot' by Mr Kinross on his run at Raukawa. The crop was brought to our office by Mr Kinross last Saturday ; it ia crammed full of grass-hoppers, beetles,-and other insects, but contains nothing else.
