Nominations for the Clutba, Flying, Railway, arid Publicans' Handicaps are to be made to the Secretary at Canning's Balclutha Hfc'el not later than Monday, 9th April* at 8 p.m. Weights for the Clutha and Flying Handicaps will be declared and published in in the 'Daily Times' of the 12th April. Acceptances will be received up to the 16th April. General entries will be made on the night of the 18th April at the Newmarket Hotel, up to 8 p.m Publicans', Railway, and Novel Handicaps will be declared at the Crown Hotel on the night of the first day's races at 8 p.m Settling night will take place at Canning's Balcluha Hotel on Saturday, the 21st of -\pril, at 8 p.m. All entries or acceptances must be in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, and con tain entrance money, description and age of horses, and colors to be worn by the jockey A penalty of £2 will be enforced for riding in wrong colors. The new rules and weights of the Dunedin Jockey Club will be strictly adhered to, unless when o 1 her wise specified. Mares and geldings allowed 3lb No person to enter a horse unless he be a subscriber of no less than £2 2s to the funds ;* and no person to nominate a hor.se unless both owner and nominator be subscribers to the same amount, post entries excepted, for which 10s 6d subscription w^ll qualify. In the event of any person entering a protest, the sum of £1 Is must be lodged with the Secretary before such protejt is considered : this sum to be forfeited to the funds should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Five per cent, will deducted from the gross of all money paid in accordance with the programme for expenses. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the races shall be decided by the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint.
