Manuka Creek School.

The Manuka Creek school was publicly examined on the 22nd inst. There was a good turn-out of parents and friends, and after a searching examination by the Rev. Mr Skinner and the teacher, prizes were awarded to the jnost deserving.

Mr Craig, a member of the School Com. mittee, coucurred in all Mr Miller had said, and hoped Mr M'Callum, the teacher, might be long spared to be amongst them. Extra prizes —Mr Walter Miller gave a volume worth 10s 6d to the best behaved scholar, and the children unanimously gave their vote in favor of James Jackson ; Mr Murray gave a volume worth 10s 6d to the best arithmetician, gained by Win. Davidson ; he also gave a handsome bouquet to the girl who gained the greatest number of prizes, gained by Annie Wyber; Bible by Mr vs'Rae, gained by John Garden ; volume by the Rev.
