Messrs Wbigut, Stephensok asd Co. report, for the week ending 20th May, as follows :— Fat Cattle.— Only 150 head were yarded, ■which were, however; sufficient for the requireMients o f the trade. We sold, on account of the 3S T Z and AX. Corapnny, Messrs Gray and Breinjie'r'j Waldie, and W. Patrick, 81 head. Fat Sheep.-^A / full supply of 2700 came forward. We sold, on account of the N.Z. and A.L. Company, 500 crossbred ewes at 12s, and 200 merino ewes at 6s 6d ; oa , account of Mr Francis Manson, 200 crossbreds at 12s ; on account of Mr Donald M'Donald, 450 merino ewes at 5s 6d ; on account of Mr James Allan, 134 crossbred ewes, very prime, at 15s 3d to 16s 3d ; also 250 mixed merinos at from 3s 6d to 7s. We quote prime halfbreds, 2£d to 3d per lb ;do merinos, 2£d. Privately we sold 450 crossbreds at quotations. Store Cattle.— We have no transactions to report. . . . Store Sheep.— We hare still enquiries for both merinos and crossbreds. During the week we sold 2000 merino ewes, full-mouthed, in lamb to Leicester rams, at 4s j and 1500 crossbred ewes, at 8s 6d. Horses. — There is a fair demand for strong coach horses, but draught are a litde dull of fale. We have to report having sold, on account of Mrs Miller, Maungatua, a two-year old draught entire colt hy Emperor, lor £200, the purchaser being Mr Charles M'Grrpgor, 'of Palmerston, who informs us that ho intends travelling him in that district. We also sold, on accountof Mr JaDies Glirer,a team of eight light draught horses, waggon, &c. They brought £33 to £14 10i each. We quote heavj draughts, £45 to £G0 ; medium do, £27 to £40*; first-class saddle and light harness horses, £25 to £30 ; medium do, £14 to £20 ; light and inferior, £5 to £10.

Sheepskins. — At our weekly sale we disposed of about 1100 at prices equal to last week's rates. There was a full attendance of buyers, and the lots were well competed for. Batchers greeu skins, halfbreds, brought 2a Gd to 2s lOd each ; merinos, 1b 7d to 3s > station skins, 3s 4d to 4s 6d } pelts, 9d to Is 2d. Hides. — The demand is good, and prices firmlj sustained. Well conditioned lots are wanted for shipment, and saleable at from 4d to 4id per lb. During the week we sold 170 medium weights, at from 16s 3d to 20s 6d each; calf-skins, at from 2s 6d to 3s each.

Grain. — Wheat continues in fair demand at from 4» Gd to 4s 9d per bushel for good and prime quality. Medium samples are worth 4s to 4s 4d, and fowls' feed 3s 6d to 3s lOd Oats are light in stock, and readily sold at from Is 9d to Is lOd for feed, up to 2s per bushel for prime milling samples. Barley — Except iv samples of superior malting, Tery little ia doiug. Wo quote prime malting, 4s 6d to 4s lOd per bushel; medium, dull of sale, at 4s to 4s 3d ; inferior, in very little demand.
