(From the ' Times.') The usual weekly meeting of this Board was held ou Wednesday. Present : — Tho Chief Commissioner (in the chair), Messrs Strode, Euttervrorth, Bastings, Clark, and Heid. The District Laud Officer, Invercargill, asked instructions with regard to the application by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company for a pre-emptivo right of 640 aores on Run No. 74. Messrs R Creagh and Co. applied for a lease of block 11., Sandspit, Waikouaiti River, for the purpose of landing goods in connection with the shipping service. . Postponed. TUAPEKA EAST. Matilda Anderson applied to purchase section 8, block XX., Tuapeka East, at £1 per acre. Approved. AVAIKAKA. Mr James Borrie, on behalf of Miss Mary Thorn, stated that her application for section 3, block 1., Waikaka district, *vas refused to be received on the 24th ult., although another application was received for the same land on that date. Miss Mary Thorn's application having been tendered at the Dnnedin office, it is now to be accepted as having been received. HAWK3BURY BUSH. Affleck applied to be allowed to part of the Hawksbury Bush Reserve, section 60, block V. .Refused ; the Government to be asked to sectionise the whole Keserve for sale. TRANSFER OF LEASE. Messrs Macassey and Kettle wrote with reference to the assignment of part of Run 362 from Messrs Rich, Stewart, and M'Konzio, and Messrs Sanders, to Messrs Sutton Bros. ; also, memo, from the Provincial Solicitor with reference to the transfer. Tlew leases to be issued according to the Act, and usual routine. APPLICATIONS TO PURCHASE UNDER AGRICULTURAL LEASE. Messrs Alexander Sutherland, section 26 ; T. W. Kempthorne, section 23 ; John Da vie, section 16 ; J. W. Smith, section 27 ; James Mackerras, sections 14 and 18; Robert Burns, section 15 ; Edmond Campbell, sections 21, 25, and 31 ; John Mitchell, section 24 ;T. S. Messrs Gillies, Street, and Hislop, applied on behalf of Messrs Aitken and Cameron to lease 10,000 acres of country lying to the west of Howloko Lake, and 40,000 acres farther west. Application received, but sketches of country to be supplied that will satisfy the Chief Surveyor that the country has been actually visited, and sketched upon the spot. SAWMILL AREA. Messrs Stewart and Doughty applied for a transfer of sawmill lease area at Waipori bush, from Mr John Lawson to Mr S. O'Xane, and that the lease after survey be issued to the latter. Lease to be issued in the name of Mr O'Kane. Twelve months extension granted, as mill was burned down. TOI TOIS DISTRICT. Mr W. S. Jackson objected to Mr John Russell being allowed to pay balance of rent on sections 2 ana 10, block VIII- , Toi Tois district, on the ground that he has neither occupied nor improved the land in any way. Referred to the Ranger for report. The Board then adjourned.
