The General Election.

I BBUCK. The election of a member to represent the district of Bruce in the House of Representatives took place yesterday, Mr William Archibald Murray being returned without opposition. At noon, abjut tweuty electors had assembled at the Courthouse, Milton. The Returning Officer, Mr J. P. Maitland after reading the writ, called for nominations. Mr Joseph Parker proposed, and Mr Peten' Cunninghame seconded, Mr W. A. Murray, and there being no other nomination, t»e Returning Officer declared Mr Murray duly elected* The announcement was .received -with, applause.
