Bruce Rifles.
MR JAMES SMITH'S PRIZE. — HANDICAP MATCH,
The second competition for the above prize took place last Saturday morning, when twelve of the company showed face. The morning was very foggy, so much 60 that the squad could not commence firing for fully an hour after the appointed time. The victor on this occasion was a recruit (Private J. Capstick), with a splendid score of 55 points, including handicap (10 points). The rangea were — 200, 500, and 600 yards, standing at 200 yards, and any position at the two last ranges.
