As a yearling, he won the first prize at Glasgow, open to all Scotland, and at Hamilton was first in his own class, with an extra | gold medal for the beat horse shown of any age, including the 2-year-old colts that won at Kelso and Glasgow. Young Prince's sire is that wonderful and unbeaten horse, Prince of Wales, which Mr ! Drew bought from D. Riddle, Esq., of Kilbowie, for 1505 guineas, and is now standing in Scotland at Lls 15s. The stock from this celehrated sire to"k 37 first prizes in one season in all parts of Scotland. Young Prince's dam was also an extraprdinary prize taktr, being first at the Bighland Society, first at Glasgow, first at Hamil- ! ton, and first at the open show at Kilbride, i thus proving Young Prince of Wales to be 1 one of the truest bred sires that ever left Scotland. Be was bred by Mr Robert Robson, of Green Lee, Lovell's Fiat, out of his prize mare Jessie, and gained the first prize at the Tokomairiro Agricultuial Society's Show in 1871 as a one-year-old. Jessie was bred in Tasmania, and imported by James Stewart, Esq., and she has gained several first 2nd second prizes at Tokomairiro Shows, both as a brood and yeld mare. Her sire was the imported hois* Sir t'olin Campbell, and as a Clydesdale mare she is second to none in I Otago. London Tarn's &ire was the celebrated horse Marquis. London Tarn will be at Mr William Paterson's, Wangaloa, every fortnight during the season. A large swamp paddock, sown with clover, provided for mares at Mr Rohson's, Green Lee, Lovell's Flat, at Is per week. Every care will be taken of mares, but no responsibility will be incurred. In ]868 he tok first honors at the same showAs a four-year-old he took first prize against all comera in 1870 Lokd Nelson's dam, Flower, is a t n n e Clydusdale mare, imported by Mr Burrows She has taken the first prize for five years in succession at the Southland A and P. Association. Flower is without doubt the best mare that any Colonial entire has been bred out of. Lord Nklson ia a stylish chestnut, stands 17 hands high, rising 4 years old, with plenty of substance, immense chest, wide quarters, splendid back, fine style, broad knees, and excel Jent feet, so requisite in a cart horse. Lord Net,son took the first prfoe in Southland as a yearling, as a two-year old he took first honors at the same place, and last year at the Walking ?how he was considered to be the best horse shown.
