A meeting of the School Masters' Association was he|d in the (Jrammar School on Saturday last. The President of the Association' (Mr Clark, Waitahuua), took, the chair. There were present : The Hector (Mr Stenhouse), Messrs Johnston, llerriott, Duthie, M'Lclland, and Dalziel. Mr M'Lelland introduced Air Dalziel as his successor a,' the Blue Spur. Owing to the measles and other causes, the attendance was but thin. The usual paper was read by Mr M'Lelland, on " AnnuiticSj or a Bathing Allowance to Teachers." The R,ectpr proposed and Mr lierriott s.ecoAd.edj q, cordial vote of thanks to Mr M'Li.eHand for his excellent paper. The new regulations aud standards was the next subject, and the result of the discussiou affirmed the proposition that the standards were iv one or two classes to high. T, here was only one dissentant. A S^u^Ooiniinttee was appointed to dray( v^p, ». p.;t])er in the substance of paper'read on " Annuities," in order to*send a copy 'to other associations i^.. the Colony.
