TO TRAVEL THIS SEASON IN THE EAST AND WEST TAIEBI DISTRICTS, THE IMPORTED CLYDESDALE STALLION, YOUNG PEINGE OF MLEB. -TTOUNG PRINCE OF WALES, lately \ imported direct from Scotland, is 3 years old, was bred by Lawrence Drew, Esq., of Merry town, Hamilton, and was selected by well-known judges as the best colt in Scotland. Ab a yearling, he won the first prize at Glasgow, open to all Scotland, and at Hamilton was first in his own class, with an extra gold medal for the best horse shown of any age, including the 2-year-old colts that won at Kelso and Glasgow. Young Prince's sire is that wonderful and unbeaten horse, Prince of Wales, which Mr Drew bought from D. Riddle, Esq., of Kilbowie, for 1505 guineas, and is now standing in Scotland at Lls 15s. The stock from this celebrated sire took 37 first prizes in one season in all parts of Scotland. Young Prince's dam was also an extraordinary prize taker, being first at the Highland Society, first at Glasgow, first at Hamilton, and first at the open show at Kilbride, thus proving Young Prince of Wales to be one of the truest bred sires that ever left Scotland. Note.— Young Prince of Wales was imported from Scotland by .Henry Hill, Esq., and sold in March last, for the sum of 900 Guineas. "I" OUDON TA.M is a rich bay horse, rising JLj 4 years old, short and compact, with fine flat bone, and stands 17 hands high. He was bred by Blr Robert Robson, of Green Lee, Lovell's Flat, out of his prize mare Jessie, and gained the first prize at the Tokomairiro Agricultural Society's Show in 1871 as a one-year-old. Jessie was bred in Tasmania, and imported by James Stewart, Esq., and she has gained several first and second prizes at Tokomairiro Shows, both as a brood and yeld mare. Her sire was the imported horse Sir Colin Campbell, and as a Clydesdale mare she is second to none in Otago. Loudon Tarn's sire was the celebrated horse Marquis. Loudon Tarn will be at Mr William Paterson's, Wangaloa, every fortnight during the season. A large swamp paddock, sown with clover, provided for mares at Mr Robson's, Green Lee, Lovell's Flat, at Is per week. Every care will be taken of mares, but no responsibility will be incurred. Young Lofty by the celebrated horse Lofty, imported by the late Thomas Robinson, Esq., of Southland. Lofty is well-known to ba the best horse that ever crossed the line, his stock has never been beaten, and his prizes in the Colony and elsewhere are too numerous to mention. The Duke of Buccleuch, one of his sons, was bred by the Hon. Matthew Holmes, of Oamaru, who refused L9OO for him, and he has stood for the last two seasons at 7 guineas a mare. Young Lofty, as a yearling, took Ist prize as the best Clydesdale entire colt at the Southland A. and P. Association, 1867. In 3868 he took first honors at the same show. 11 Aa a four-year-old he took first prize against Lt all comers in 1870 y Lord Nelsons dam, Mower, is a fine Clydesdale mare, imported by Mr Burrows. 1- She has taken the first prize for five years in n succession at the Southland A and P. ia Association. Flower is without doubt the best mare that any Colonial entire has been bred out of. Lord Nklson is a stylish chestnut, stands $, J. 7 hands high, rising 4 years old, with plenty of substance, immense chest, wide quarters, Bplend^d back, fine style, broad knees, and excellent feet, so requisite in a cart horse. - Lord Nelson took the firflt pri-se in South- - land as a yearling, as a two-year old he took first honors at the same place, and last year at the Walking Show he was considered to be the besfc horse shown.
