Wellik'&tok', Sept. 10. The new Ministry were sworn in this afternoon. Stafford, Premier and Native Affairs ; Gillies, Treasurer ; Reid, Public Works j Fitzberberfc and Curtis departments not yet assigned. Sewell takes pffice, and represents the G-pYernment in

the Upper House. Two seats in the Ministry are yet to be filled up. ■Waterhouse supports the Government, but his heiilth prevents him accepting a portfolio. Grisborne has resigned his seat, and Yogel is constituted leader of the Opposition. The new Government, finding not a shilling in the Treasury, ! have, after very spiteful opposition, got an imprest supply j granted for seventy thousand pounds to | meet pressing demands. It is reported that a deputation of ■ Auckland members to-day waited on! M'Lean, and asked him to retain the charge of Native Affairs, but he positively declined. It is rumored that Dr Pollen- is to be called to the Council, and will take charge of the Native Department. On the House meeting to-day, the Ministerial benches were occupied by Stafford, Curtis, Eeid, and Fitzherbert.
