IN compliance with recommendations contained in the Reports of the Flax ComTmission Committee, and of the Joint Comxnittee on Colonial industries, to the effect •hat '• premiums not exceeding in the whole LSOO should be granted For the encouragement of Sericulture in the Colony," and that >the development of certain industrial pursuits would often be best promoted by the offer of a bonus on .production, the following rewards are offered, subject to the under- mentioned ' conditions : — / ( A Jbonus of 50 per cent, on the value realised is offered, for .'the production of the first LIOOO worth of cocoons of the' Silkworm or eggs of the Silkworm, produced in the ■Colony, to be paid on quantities of not less value than LSO or more than LIOO produced '•■ by any one person . To any person or persons who shall manu- ; acture, within the Colony, from New Zealand flax : For the first" 500 reams -of Printing Paper, a sum of L4OO ; and a further sum of L 250 for the first 500 reams of Packing Paper ; and the like sura for the first 10,000 yards | ■of Scrim-cloth suitable -for -covering flax • bales. Conditions. . TPheTeqciired quantity of each article to b -completed before the 30th June, 1872. The weight of each ream of printing paper to be not" less than- 30ibs., of each ream of packing paper not less than 401b5., and of ' each piece of scrim-cloth of '100 yards in length and double width, not less than SOlbs.
