The directors of the Panama, New Zealand, and Australian Royal Mail Steam Company (Limited) have issued a copiov* Report, presented at the General Meeting on the 9th of June last. The paragraphs gating, to the dividends are annexed : The balance of receipts . over expenditure, after deducting the appropriation to repair account, &c, is ; £17,487 7s. 9d., which added to the amount brought forward front the ; previous account,, makes the total to credit of profit and loss account £17,655 2s. Id The appropriation of £4500 to depreciation, £500 m reduction of expenses in connection with the Panama contract, and issue of new shares, and the payment of £6056 14s 3d for dividend for the half-year ended.June 30, 1864, and interest on calls paid in advance, reduce the available balance to £6598 7s. lOd. The directors recommend a second dividend for the half of the year 1864 at the rate of £o per cent, per annum, free of income-tax, on the old shares, and on the amount called up on the new shares, leaving £648 7s. lOd. ■ to be carried forward. With regard to the future prospects of the undertaking, the Directors state that there is every reason to be satisfied with them. The report of the New Zealand Banking Corporation, presented on the 6th of June states the available total to be £3532 and recommends a dividend at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum, which will absorb £2767 The sum of £298 is to be written off preliminary expenses, &c, and £498 will remain to be carried forward.
