PLEURO-PNEUMONIA.
Aib — "There is nae luck." It's very sad, indeed, to meet, So many dismal faces About, in nearly every street, And other public places ; For things now do not look so bright, In the neighborhood of Toko, _ And stock-owners are in a fright, •-About this dreaded Pleuro. eh bus : . For there is no luck with the stock, . There is no luck Tin sure-O : We-either.have a scabby flock, > . : ■■ Or -else we've got the Pleuro. People soon will not buy meat — For it's to be expected, That if they do of Pleuro eat, Theyll surely get infected. Some people now there are who say, i They know a certain cure-0 : But most seem struck dumb with dia may, At this most horrid Pleuro. For, there is no luck, &c. They had a meeting t'other night, At the " White Horse" Hotel, Where they made some speeches bright, And drank some grog as well ; And they voted the district clean — ' Tho' dirty it is, I'm sure-O, For seVral cases there are, I ween, : Of this most dreaded Pleuro. For, there is no luck, &c.^ Borne their stock inoculate, As a sure preventative : But if they leave 'em to their fate, ■ They've a better chance to live. We had a man here t'other day, Who said he was a cure-O, But now he has run away, And left us with our Pleuro. For, therd is no luck, &c. To business there'll soon be a stop, Amongst the " Miltonarians," Butchers will have to shut up shop, When we turn " Vegetarians ;" For, amongst the pigs and sheep, I feel almost sure- J, This dread disease will somehow creep, And they'll die off by Pleuro. For, there is no luck, &c. And each dog now "hangs down" his tail, As if that he expected To be soon " hung up" for sale, . ■ Labelled, "Not* lnfected !" There'll be a great demand for cats, Of that I am quite sure-O, But we'll want certificates, That they're free from Pleuro. For, there is no luck, &c. But Pleuro may do us some good, And may this lesson teach vs — Not to despise any food That Providence may send us. And should we how invaded be, We've got a certain cure-O, For enemies would qui-jkly flee After a feed of Pleuro. For, there is no luck, &c. "F. S."
