THE INTER-COLONIAL CATTLE SHOW.

The first inter-cplonial show of live stock, projected and carried out by Messrs*. Drivir M'Lfan of Dunediu, took place on Thursdiy last at the North Dunedin Cricket ground, ! : he show of cattle was a comparatively poor one, owing to the fear of Pleuro-Pneumonia, but in horses and aheep the competition u as considerable, and exhibits had been sent from almost all the Aut-tralian colonies. The prizes awarded were as follows:— CATTLE. Best bull, any age, (Durham) George Murray; second do do, Robert Graham, Auckland, Best cow, any age, (Durham) Jam i-8 Allen; second do do, James Allen Best bull of any breed, George Murray; 2nd do do, Kobt. Graham. Best cow, any breed, A. C Strode; second do do, James Al'en est cow, any age, for dairy purposes, David Warneck, second do do, D. Brunton. Be>t bull, under three yeers, any breed, -George Murray, Taieri ; second do do, Kol t. Graham Auckland. Beat heifer, under three years, James Kennedy ; second do do, David Warnock. Best heifer, under two years, any breed, James Kennedy. Best pair fat oxen, Philhps, Parsons and Co. Best pair lat cows, Phillip*, Parsons, and Co. Best pair of working bullocks, Alex. Prizes were also given for poultry. During the two da} 8 the show continued, it was visited by a large n amber of people, and on the second day a 'considerable portion of the stock was sold by auction at high figures.
