Northerly and we.steKy winds, strong to a 'heavy gale, have been experienced, and ,rain has l'ailen in, many parts e,f the country. Present indication's am for high westerly winds a ltd .squally and showery weather. The barometer will probably re.sfc for a. short time in t ; he. south but another low pressure area is due to follow in the south. CHRISTCH URCH . Dec. 6. The big east stand at Lancaster Park has been, wrecked by -a 'norw.ost gale. The roof was lifted i;ocli'ly. The (Innkigo is estimated .at £IOOO.
Rev. D. C. Bates wired to-day:—-Strong westerly wnds to gale backing ; expect unsettled and cloudy weather at times ; glass rise slowly, but glass fall again after 36 hours.
