. PoMing has proceeded steadily since 9 o'clock. The usual early rush of voters took place when the booths were opened, and later in the morning there was a lull. After one o'clock much .greater interest was shown, and motor-ears and cabs weiro much in evidence. It was a matter for genera!! remark that the licensed victuallers were well organised far the liquor polls, while the No-License party were fully allivo to their interests. All! tho sarnie, the electoral contest did not appea<r to be overshadowed. Tho supporters of Messrs Jull and Hunter were quietly confident, and worked assiduously in bringing voters to the poM. Tlho proceedings wore distinctly on tho quiet side, and there was an utter absence of an\thing ,approaching boisterousne^s. Voting proceeded steadilv at the country booths all da v.
