PUBLIC SERVICE SUPERANNUATION.

[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, This Day. At a meeting of the Public Service Superannuation Board, a committee was set up to enquire into the rates of interest allowed by the Public Trust on superannuation fund investments, and as to the charges made by that office for dealing with the fund. A committee was also set up to draft a regulation dealing with officers on leave without pay, and the amount to be paid by them while absent on such leave. The decision of the Supreme Court on the question of members of the Police Department who are now merged into the Public Service Superannuation Fund, being able to pay for broken srvicc, was considered, and it was decided that applications to pay for such broken service would be considered up to March 31. The amount to the credit of the fund on December 31 last was £254,015, an increase of £103,675 on the corresponding quarter of last year. The total annual amount of retiring allowances and annuities to widows and children on the schedule for last meeting was £1589 14s lOd.
