' The demand for New Zealand mutton is poor. We quote: New Zealand prime crossbred mxitton, Canterbury heavy 3|d. per lb, lighit 4d per lb ; New Zealand' prime crossbred mutton-, North Island heavy 3§d per lb, light per Xb. The demand for New Zealand beef if poor and prices are weaker. MutltonJ—Prices are firm. Australian good average quality crossbred lamb, heavy 4d per lb, light 4d pealb- Australian prime crossbred mutton, hea.vy 3§d per lb; light 3§d- per lb. For frozen beef the demand has been checked by the increased prices asked, and some reaction is probable. The mutton market is firm, and there is a small supply of frozen lamb with prices just ia shade- lower ow-ing to speculators flaking their profits.
