NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION. ANNUAL MEETING. [press association.] WELLINGTON, May 12. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr F. H. Campbell presiding in the absence or Mr F."Logan, president. The chairman said he was hopeful that the English Rugby Union would make further alteration considered desirable by people here. The sending of the New Zealand team to Australasia this year was to counteract the professional element which was growing up there but there was no need to fear it in New Zealand. Baron Islington was .elected patron, and Mr R. Galbraith, Southland, president. Other officers include :• Hon treasurer, H. W. Kelly, management committee, G. H. Dixon, R. M. Isaacs, N. Galbraith, J. H. A. Loughton, A. Laurenson, M. Ji Crombie, and F. S. Wallburton, Appeal Council (to be located at Wellington), F. H. Campbell, H. Harris, and H. F. Sincock. A grant of £SO was made towards Taranaki Unions scheme to. establish scholarships to. the memory of the late Alfred Bayly. The Otago Union was granted a further loan of £I2OO to effect improvements on the Carisbrook ground. A loan was voted to Wa.ira.rapa Union, and £IOO was voted toward the encouragement of Rugby football in primary schools. It was recommended to the management committee that the North v. South. match be played at Christchurch.
