SPIRITED COMPETITION

There is keen and spirited competition at the wool sales, and full prices have been maintained.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report holding Mr H. I. Danby's clearing sale of dairy stock, farm implements, etc., at Tipapakukn, yesterday. There was a good attendance, and the sale right through, was most successful. We quote:—Daily cows from £4 to £7, empty cows £2 10s to £3, 18-month heifers £2 to £3 Bs, cow with calf £4 2s 6d, 18-month Jersey bull £2 15s, weaners 21s to 23s 6d. Pigs : Boars 22s to 31s, sow with litter £4 to £4 os, porkers 13s to 20s, empty sow 355, sow in pig 51s. Farm implements, furniture, and the usual sundries made fair values.
