Mr R. Hannah left for Wellington to-day. Brigadier Glover, of the Salvation Army, arrived from the north to-day. Mr A. E. Meatyard, of Palmerston. North, was a visitor to Dannevirk^ to-day. V Mr H. M. Simmonds, of Gamma n o "' and Co., was a visitor to Dannevirke to-day. Mr and Mrs James Young will leave Dannevirke for their new home at Te Aroho. on- Tviesday next. The Rev. James Patterson, of Wellington, arrived at Dannevirke by the Napier express this morning. The Rev. W. W. Avery, son of Mr W. Avery, Fairhall, who is leaving shortly to take up mission work in New Guinea, paid a brief visit to his relatives in Marlborough last week. Mdlle. Antonio Dolores is leaving England this month for her Australasiani concert tour. Mr Frank Wells, who was here with Mdlle. Dolores on her last visit, will come as accompanist and solo pianist. The death occurred at the Napier Hospital on' Saturday of Dr. Appei, veterinary surgeon, a resident of Napier for the past 17 years. Prior to coming to Napier, he resided at Hokitika, where he was in business for close on 30 years. A cablegram has been received in Blenheim announcing the cleath, by a fall of earth at Koo'lgardie, of Mr Dugald Kennedy, eldest son of the late Mr John Kennedy of Grovetown. The deceased was a native of Marlborough, anjcl«ieft - the district about 16 years ago> No further particulars are yet to hand. Mr James Bell, who recently purchased one of Mo*. H. Gaisford's Hawke's Bay properties, left, Blenheim on Friday for Wellington en route to the Old Country. He was farewelled at the railway station by a large number of friends, who wished him God-speed and a safe return. Mr Bell will be absent for about 12 months.
