The total quantity of wheat and iiour ailoat for the United Kingdom totals 3,890,000 quarters; for the Continent, 2,215,000; Atlantic shipments, 47,000; Pacific, 13,000. The total shipments to Europe this week amounted to 1,243,000, including 433,000 from the Argentine and Uruguay. Silver is quoted at 23fd per oz. Wool is very firm, and competition is fully maintained; prices are unchanged.

FIFTH WOOL SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows: The Associated Brokers held their fifth or supplementary'sale yesterday, when some ,400 bales were offered to a large gathering of Home and Continental houses. Bidding was fairly brisk and the bulk of the lots were sold at prices quite equal to February sale considering' the quality. Taken as a whole, the catalogue was a very unattractive one, containing many rough lots amd t'he prices obtained must be considered very satisfactory. Owners prohibitive reserves were largely responsible for the passed-in lots.
