The Chief,, Justice to-day granted a change of venue in the cases Joseph P. Dairs and M>a.rtin Haines, who have been committed for triad at Wanganui on a charge of wilfully setting fire to shops in Wanganui. Mr Wilford, in making the application, said the feeling of indignation at Wanganui over the case was at such fever heat that it was impossible for accused to be tried by a jury that wias not inflamed by popular prejudice against them. _ The Crown opposed the application. =
