THE WEATHER.

[press association.] HASTINGS, This Day. An inch of rain has fallen since daylight; and will cause damage to stone fruits. FEILDING, This Day. A tremendously heavy rain storm occurred here just before 1 o'clock. Many business places were flooded, owing to the roof and gutters being choked. The street gutters were unable to carry away the water, and the shops were flooded. A considerable quantity of stock in the shops was destroyed. The weather is now clear, but uncertain. Rev. D. C. Bates wired to-day: Moderate to strong northerly winds; expect showery and changeable weather; expect warm and humid conditions; glass fall slowly.
