PERSONAL.
Mr W. J. King, J.P., of Waiuku, Manakau, has been gazetted a coroner for the Dominion. Bishop Julius was a passenger southward by the express train today. Mr Crallan left Dannevirke to-day for Taurahgarere, where he has secured the contract to erect a sawmill. Messrs D. Crewe and "W. Norrell have resigned their positions as trustees of the Pahiatua Drill Shed Reserve. Miss Jetta Jensen is at present spending a holiday in Napier. Miss Lindsay, of Napier, is staying for a few days with friends in Dannevirke. Mr S. T. Paviour-Smith leaves England on Friday on his return to Dannevirke. Staff-Captain Simms, of Dannevirke, is one of fifty Salvation Army officers in the North Island who have received, orders to transfer.. Mr Gibbons, managing director of Barraud and Abraham, Ltd., is on a visit to Dannevirke to-day. The Misses Speedy, of Wainui, are at present visiting Taupo. Mr and Mrs F. W. and Master Frankland, of Foxton, have gone to Auckland en route to the United States and probably England. Mr Frankland hopes to return in about ,uine mouths and then intends to .'systematically canvass the electorate. Mr John Straughan, SurveyorGeneral, contenmlates an early tour through the northern part of Hawke's Bay. Mr P. 0- Clark returned from the Wellington bowling tournament, which he had been attending, last night.
