TAUIIANGA, yesterday
Andrew Hana ,a. well-known exfootballer, was drowned at about 2 o'clock on Sunday morning in the Uretawa river, Katikati. He had gone from Taiiraiiga to be referee in a football match, and was waiting on the wharf for the tide to return, home. When .gomg aboard he tripped* on a rope and fell off the wharf. Two companions plunged in, but were unable to find him. The body was recovered soon after daylight. ' The deceased . represented Auckland Rugby Union in 1893-4. He loaves a widow and three children.
