From 1869- to 1909 Canada's imports from Britain had fallen from 56 to 23 * per cent., while from, the United States they had advanced from 34 to. 60 per cent. Investigation, on behalf of the Board of Trade attributes to the Americans the -keeping in closer touch with th\Canadian market, and their gv readiness to- adapt themselves to Canada's requirements.
