(Received this day r 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, yesterday. Showers fell yesterday. The weather to-day is dull but Mann, and the I wicket is fair . I Rhodes and Wilson opened for Yorkshire to the bowling of Laver and Armstrong. The batsmen play- , ed lively cricket from the jump, and knocked up 49 in 45 minutes. Wilson was stumped in the first over. Denton followed Rhodes, who was smartly caught by Laver off his own bowling — two wickets for 71. The third wicket fell without any addition to the score. Wilkinson succumbed in the second over, playing forward to Laver. Hirst filled the vacancy and the century appeared for 90 minutes' play. Hirst knocked three fours off Cotter's first over and' was caught by Armstrong — four for 100. Rothery had a short stay, the fifth wicket falling for 108.' Denton's half century took 95 minutes.
